Forest River model and owner-support checks
Identify a Forest River RV by its complete family name, floorplan and model year before comparing weights or arranging repairs. Rockwood, Flagstaff, Cherokee, Salem and the motorhome families cover different designs. Use the label on the actual vehicle; a shared parent company does not establish interchangeable specifications or equipment.
A Geo Pro buying discussion shows the label problem
In a discussion about a 2019 Geo Pro 19FBS, a prospective buyer reported 606 lb maximum cargo before water and 250 lb with fresh and hot water full. Another participant reported 714 lb on a different unit without the same slide arrangement. These are individual reports, not a fleet average or current-model rating.
The first poster’s stated water figures were 306 lb fresh and 50 lb hot water: 606 minus 356 equals 250 lb. Confirm the exact label’s fluid and equipment basis before making another deduction for LP or batteries. Modern U.S. labeling and a Canadian label on an older trailer need to be read on their own terms.
Find the support documents for that vehicle
Forest River’s recall search identifies the owner-support route. For a motorhome, check chassis campaigns separately with its VIN. Keep repair invoices and match the purchase-date-specific warranty document; an online campaign total cannot establish whether a particular unit has an open defect.
Use an owner report to ask a narrower load question
In the Geo Pro discussion, the reported starting allowance and treatment of fluids are more useful than the largest number mentioned by another participant. Write down which unit each figure describes before comparing them.
Ask a seller to show the label rather than explain the allowance from memory. If water is already included in a stated travel weight, deducting the same water again produces a different error from omitting it.
Record the label, the loading condition and the scale reading together to preserve that distinction.
Compare the load basis before comparing two trailers
The 606-pound and 714-pound reports describe different units. Do not average them into a Geo Pro specification or copy the larger allowance to a listing with a smaller label.
Photograph the actual label and record its stated water and equipment treatment. A floorplan comparison becomes useful only after each unit’s starting condition is understood.
