Sunseeker, Forester and Solera comparisons

Compare Sunseeker, Forester and Solera by the exact model year, chassis and installed equipment. Related plan numbers can help locate a similar layout, but do not prove two coaches have identical ratings, tanks or accessories. Obtain the completed-coach label and configuration before choosing a tow setup or packing load.

The 2400BDS model sheet gives 35 gallons fresh, 32 gray and 32 black. The 2026 Sunseeker brochure instead shows 41 gallons fresh for its 2400BDS illustration. Keep the two editions separate and confirm the tank fitted to the vehicle being sold.

The tank difference changes a load calculation

At 8.34 lb per gallon, 35 gallons weigh about 292 lb and 41 gallons about 342 lb. The difference is about 50 lb of travel load. Neither tank figure determines the coach’s remaining occupant-and-cargo allowance without its actual label and weighing.

Keep the chassis choice explicit

The broader Sunseeker family includes gas, diesel and compact van-based configurations. For a Forester or Solera with a related layout, compare engine, chassis year, axle ratings, receiver and equipment line by line. A one-digit difference between plan codes does not authorize using the 2400BDS ratings on another coach.

If this example coach weighed an assumed 10,500 lb ready to travel, its 15,250 lb GCWR would leave 4,750 lb arithmetic margin. Check all vehicle and towing-equipment limits before using that result. The unit’s hitch rating can be lower, and passenger seating must be verified independently of sleeping space.

Record the edition beside the tank quantity

A buyer comparing the model sheet and brochure should photograph the vehicle’s tank and capacity information rather than choose whichever publication gives more water. The extra fresh capacity in the brochure example also adds travel load when used.

Ask which equipment package and chassis edition the dealer is describing. A Forester offered beside the Sunseeker needs its own completed-coach label even when the interior arrangement looks alike.

The paired plan names are a way to find candidates, not a substitute for that comparison.

When the model sheet and Sunseeker brochure disagree, retain both document editions in the inspection file and ask the manufacturer or selling dealer to identify which describes the unit. A substituted tank or changed equipment package can also make a current brochure insufficient to describe a used vehicle.

Record the installed component and tank information with the completed-coach label. Then test how the interior works with the slides closed: access to the bathroom, designated belted positions and secure storage can matter during a road stop even when the campsite arrangement is comfortable.

A matching Forester or Solera interior photograph does not establish that these details or the loading figures are equal.
