Thor motorhome classes and chassis comparisons

Thor’s Tellaro and Sanctuary are camper vans; Gemini AWD and Compass AWD are cutaway coaches marketed as Class B+, within the Class C format. Four Winds and Chateau are Class C families, while Omni includes Super C configurations. A short floorplan number cannot establish the class or chassis.

Tellaro 20L: compare limits against the travel load

The 20L sheet lists 9,350 lb GVWR, 12,000 lb GCWR and a 5,000 lb receiver figure. At an assumed 9,000 lb loaded coach weight, 3,000 lb remain under GCWR. The receiver’s larger number cannot override that lower margin or the applicable vehicle and equipment limits.

Similar lengths can hide different platforms

The current Gemini 22MT page gives 23 ft 7 in length and 11,000 lb GVWR.

Sanctuary 19A is 19 ft 9 in with 9,050 lb GVWR. Chateau 19Z is 20 ft 5 in with 11,500 lb GVWR. A compact exterior is insufficient to classify the coach as a van.

For the published Omni X32 configuration, the sheet identifies Ford F-550 diesel, 19,500 lb GVWR, 43,000 lb GCWR and a 10,000 lb hitch rating. Do not infer a 23,500 lb tow rating by subtracting GVWR from GCWR; the hitch and other limits still apply.

Compare designated seat belts, actual occupant-and-cargo allowance and service access alongside the floorplan. Sleeping capacity alone cannot settle travel seating or enough payload for the intended occupants.
