nuCamp trailer and truck-camper load choices
nuCamp TAB and Haven trailers require tow-vehicle and loaded-tongue checks; Cirrus truck campers require pickup payload, bed-fit and center-of-gravity checks. Keep the year and trim attached to every figure. A “half-ton” marketing description cannot establish that an optioned camper fits a particular truck’s remaining capacity.
TAB 320: trim and usable water are separate figures
| TAB 320 trim | Dry weight | Dry tongue | Usable fresh water |
|---|---|---|---|
| Boondock | 2,069 lb | 202 lb | 19 gal |
| Black Canyon | 2,109 lb | 208 lb | 19 gal |
| LITE | 1,932 lb | 242 lb | 19 gal |
The 2026 teardrop brochure gives these values. The lighter LITE has a higher published dry tongue figure than Boondock, so total dry weight alone cannot predict hitch demand. Obtain the actual unit’s label and loaded measurement.
TAB 400: distinguish total from usable capacity
The 2026 TAB 400 sheet lists 28 gallons total fresh capacity and 25 usable, with 2,885 lb dry weight and 450 lb dry tongue. The three-gallon distinction represents about 25 lb of water at 8.34 lb per gallon; use the appropriate capacity for trip planning without confusing tank size with a guaranteed drainable supply.
Cirrus 620: an optioned owner example
An owner weighing a Cirrus 620 at home reported about 1,800 lb with some test water aboard, then found an 1,810 lb unit label. The owner listed 45 lb awning, 89 lb A/C and 24 lb microwave option weights. Those 158 lb of options help explain why a brochure’s starting dry figure can understate the actual camper.
The owner’s camper is not the 2026 base configuration. The 2026 manufacturer sheet lists 1,565 lb dry, 20 gallons total fresh and 18 usable, plus a 24.75-inch center-of-gravity figure. Do not mix those values with an older 620 or apply them to Cirrus 820 or 920.
For Haven 220, TAB 360 or another trim, use its own current sheet and installed equipment list. Weigh with trip gear and compare every truck, trailer, hitch, axle and tire limit relevant to the setup.
