Fleetwood Altitude and Holiday Rambler Incline checks
Fleetwood Altitude and Holiday Rambler Incline names cover conventional Class C and Super C versions. Identify the model year and chassis before comparing towing figures. Similar plan codes do not establish identical cargo capacity, receiver limits or equipment on coaches with different bodies and chassis.
2026 Altitude: the tongue limit changes by plan
| Plan | Wheelbase | Receiver rating | Tongue limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| 27U | 194 in | 7,500 lb | 750 lb |
| 29F | 214 in | 7,500 lb | 750 lb |
| 29H | 214 in | 7,500 lb | 750 lb |
| 31 W | 223 in | 7,500 lb | 500 lb |
The 2026 Altitude sheet gives all four plans 14,500 lb GVWR and 22,000 lb GCWR. Its 31 W tongue limit is lower despite the same stated receiver rating. Use the receiver and vehicle labels on the coach you inspect; a towed trailer’s vertical load is a separate restriction from trailer gross weight.
For example, a trailer with an assumed 600 lb measured tongue demand exceeds this sheet’s 31 W limit by 100 lb, even if its total weight is below 7,500 lb. Removing luggage from the motorhome does not raise that stated tongue limit.
Keep Super C specifications separate
Altitude and Incline FS550 and FS600D versions need their own chassis and completed-coach documents. Do not carry the conventional Class C table across to a Super C based on a similar brochure name. Verify engine, driveline, axle ratings, occupant-and-cargo label and installed receiver.
A loaded coach’s combination margin is GCWR less its actual travel-ready weight. Apply the hitch, axle and chassis restrictions as well. Bring the intended passengers, fuel and water basis into that weighing before choosing a towed vehicle.
Vertical hitch demand can rule out an otherwise light trailer
The Altitude 31 W example demonstrates a separate load limit that a large advertised trailer rating can obscure. A trailer with less total mass than the receiver’s gross trailer limit may still place too much vertical load on that installation.
Measure the intended loaded arrangement and compare that demand with the actual label. For an Incline or Altitude Super C, obtain its own ratings rather than use the conventional Class C sales table.
Keep the loaded-coach axle results with the hitch comparison, because moving people or cargo can affect the available axle margin.
