Lippert Level-Up fifth-wheel error codes

The Lippert Level-Up LCD fifth-wheel touchpad names a condition that stopped the requested operation. Record the exact wording before pressing ENTER. A returned code means the underlying condition remains; acknowledgement does not repair the system; use the model-specific recovery branch for that message.

Use the fifth-wheel LCD table

The 2018 Level-Up guide CCD-0001749 differs from the motorized hydraulic and electric Ground Control documents. Identify the controller and installed leveling hardware before choosing a voltage limit or calibration procedure.

Level-Up LCD fifth-wheel messages
MessageMeaning in the cited guide
Low VoltageBattery dropped below 9.5 V; supply/wiring need investigation
Out of StrokeA jack reached maximum travel
Jack Time OutRequested automatic operation exceeded its time limit
External SensorRear sensor connection/wiring issue
Auto Level FailureController security or voltage-drop branch
Auto Level FailGround condition or zero-point branch
Bad calibration / Internal SensorCalibration/internal sensor branch requiring service
Function AbortedA button interrupted an automatic operation

Feature Disabled is not a single diagnosis

The guide lists different contexts: no zero point, no hitch angle, or a front-below-level start when requesting hitch recognition. Record which function produced the message. Setting level and restoring hitch height are different operations.

A trailer that has reached a jack’s travel limit may need a safer site rather than another calibration. Do not force additional extension or improvise tall supports to defeat the warning. Resolve the placement and manufacturer conditions first.

Timeout needs more than a reset

The manual’s timeout branch includes obstructions, fluid leakage, fluid level and pump-motor voltage under load. Those are possible checks, not proof of one failed component. A visible leak or a leg that drifts needs diagnosis even if a later cycle succeeds.

Keep hands away from moving parts and do not enter beneath a trailer supported only by the leveling system. Service support and tire-changing support require the appropriate separate equipment. A capacity figure printed on a leg is not approval for every lifting task.

Preserve evidence for the actual installation

Photograph the touchpad and accessible labels, then describe what moved before the error. Note whether the issue occurs during auto-level, manual movement or hitch recognition. That distinction helps the repair provider follow the correct branch.

For the different electric system, see Ground Control 3.0. For the coach hydraulic system, see motorized hydraulic LCD. Do not transfer an override direction between them.
