PD4500 converter: identify the rating and lithium mode
Identify the exact PD4500 converter section and revision before choosing a battery mode or calculating AC demand. DC charging amps are not AC input amps. The older manual and the current product table disagree on one input-power figure, so use documentation for the installed hardware rather than assuming all PD4575 units are identical.
The 75-amp model has a documented source discrepancy
Progressive Dynamics’ product table lists maximum continuous input power of 1,000 W for PD4560, 1,300 W for PD4575 and 1,550 W for PD4590. Those input figures accompany maximum DC outputs of 60, 75 and 90 A respectively.
| Model | Current web table input | 110030J manual input |
|---|---|---|
| PD4560 | 1,000 W | 1,000 W |
| PD4575 | 1,300 W | 1,250 W |
| PD4590 | 1,550 W | 1,550 W |
The 110030J manual prints the lower PD4575 input figure, a 50-W difference. Neither figure is a 1,250- or 1,300-W DC output promise. Ask the maker which document and replacement section match the unit’s label before allocating a tight circuit budget.
Lead-acid and lithium modes are different
The manual describes lead-acid boost near 14.4 V, normal near 13.6 V and storage near 13.2 V after 30 hours without significant use. Its optional LI position instead supplies constant 14.6 V with Charge Wizard disabled. Dedicated LI models are specified for LiFePO4 and must not charge lead-acid batteries.
Do not select a position from the word lithium alone. Compare the battery’s permitted profile and current, the converter configuration and any external controls. A lithium battery’s management system is not permission to apply an incompatible charger.
Owners describe different boards under the same family name
The Jayco discussion includes owners reporting a visible switch, jumper arrangements and an older board with neither the same switch nor plug. One contributor reports manufacturer-supplied help with a jumper; that does not establish a universal modification.
Give service the converter-section label and board revision. Do not short unidentified pins or copy a 4600-series diagram onto another board. The model family on a general manual cover may be insufficient for ordering parts.
Protect ventilation and stop at repeated faults
Keep the installed converter’s approved airflow and enclosure arrangement. Isolate every relevant source before fuse service, and use the exact specified fuse type and rating. Repeated trips or missing charging output require diagnosis, rather than a larger fuse or repeated resets.
The power-path guide distinguishes conversion, charging and inversion. A house light working while on shore power does not establish that current is reaching the battery through its separate fuse, disconnect and wiring.
