Starcraft trailer families and load comparisons
Identify a Starcraft by its model year, trailer form and regional version. Autumn Ridge and Super Lite are travel-trailer families; GSL includes travel trailers and fifth wheels. The same floorplan number can have different published weights and tanks in a West version, so keep the complete model identity attached to every specification.
Autumn Ridge 20FBS: a regional water comparison
| Item | Standard | West |
|---|---|---|
| UVW | 4,615 lb | 4,605 lb |
| Dry hitch | 480 lb | 450 lb |
| CCC | 1,635 lb | 1,645 lb |
| GVWR | 6,250 lb | 6,250 lb |
| Fresh capacity | 42 gal | 84 gal |
| Overall length | 23 ft 8 in | 23 ft 8 in |
The standard 20FBS and West 20FBS pages show that a shared length does not establish identical carrying or hitch figures. Verify the unit’s labels and installed equipment before relying on either sheet.
Full fresh water is about 350 lb for 42 gallons and 701 lb for 84 gallons, using 8.34 lb per gallon. The corresponding published CCC remainders are about 1,285 and 944 lb before other counted additions. A larger tank gives storage volume while using more of the carrying allowance.
Match the coupling and cold-weather equipment
A GSL Light Duty fifth wheel still requires adequate loaded pin capacity in the truck. Compare its own label and hitch installation instead of applying Autumn Ridge travel-trailer tongue figures. For a Super Lite or GSL travel trailer, use that exact floorplan’s dimensions, loaded weight and receiver requirements.
The 2025 manufacturer information says to winterize for exposure at or below 32°F and excludes freezing damage from the limited warranty. A heated underbelly package is insufficient to establish protection when stored without the required heat or power.
Ownership and the used-unit file
Starcraft’s history records roots in 1903, tent campers in 1964 and Jayco’s 1991 purchase of the RV division. Obtain the matching owner manual and dated repair records rather than treating company age as a condition report.
Check recalls through NHTSA using the VIN. Ask the seller to demonstrate house systems and obtain a qualified assessment of staining, soft flooring or previous structural repairs.
