Outdoors RV model and trim load comparisons

Outdoors RV builds in La Grande, Oregon. Compare Creek Side, Timber Ridge, Back Country and Trail Series by the exact floorplan and trim. A four-season package does not establish the loaded weight, a tow vehicle match or freeze protection under every operating condition.

Creek Side 17RBS: trim changes the starting weight

The 17RBS manufacturer sheet lists 5,150 lb full-feature dry weight and 5,250 lb Titanium dry weight. It gives 7,100 lb maximum trailer weight, 1,950 lb NCC and approximately 500 lb dry hitch weight. The Titanium figure is 100 lb heavier, so the listed NCC needs confirmation on that optioned unit.

A large water tank uses carrying allowance

Seventy-eight gallons weigh about 651 lb at 8.34 lb per gallon. Deducting that from the published 1,950 lb NCC leaves about 1,299 lb for other additions counted against that allowance. Use the actual unit’s label and loaded measurement before allocating the remainder.

The two axle ratings total 7,000 lb while maximum trailer weight is 7,100 lb. Trailer gross weight and axle load are different checks because the hitch supports part of the total. Neither figure permits exceeding an individual axle, tire or hitch limit.

Confirm how winter equipment operates

The sheet lists a heated enclosed underbelly, thermal-pane windows and a 25,000 BTU furnace. Ask how the tank and plumbing protection depend on furnace use, battery power and installed options. A cold-weather label is insufficient reason to leave water systems full in an unheated stored trailer.

The manufacturer’s address is La Grande; Wallowa Lake is associated with its camping community, not the factory location. For a Back Country or Trail Series toy hauler, obtain that model’s generator, garage, ramp and tie-down specifications separately.
