Conquest, Lodge, GSX and Sedona load choices
Conquest, Lodge and GSX travel trailers use a different towing connection from a Sedona fifth wheel. Establish the actual coupling and loaded hitch demand before comparing the floorplan. Large living space and high dry weight do not establish a generous cargo allowance.
Unloaded hitch figures describe different connections
| Model | Dry weight | Published hitch weight | Length |
|---|---|---|---|
| Conquest 34FLS | 7,917 lb | 1,340 lb | 38 ft |
| GSXG26 | 5,700 lb | 880 lb | 30 ft 11 in |
| Sedona 28CBF | 7,500 lb | 1,520 lb | 31 ft 6 in |
The 34FLS sheet, GSX catalog and Sedona 28CBF sheet are separate configurations. Sedona’s published hitch figure is an unloaded fifth-wheel pin figure. None of these figures is a loaded scale measurement for the unit being purchased.
Lodge 406FLR: living space versus carrying allowance
The Conquest catalog lists Lodge 406FLR at 9,987 lb dry with 1,582 lb hitch weight, 40 ft 5 in length and 795 lb NCC. For a worked packing example, 300 lb of supplies and 200 lb of other additions counted against NCC would leave 295 lb. Weigh the actual trailer and confirm the label basis before assigning that remainder.
A dealer-delivered destination setup still needs an adequate tow combination and a suitable delivery route. Measure turns, overhead clearance and the site entrance before arranging the move. A fifth-wheel hitch guide cannot be applied to a travel-trailer coupler.
GSX loading includes the toys
GSXG26’s published 51-gallon fresh capacity represents about 425 lb of water. The catalog gives 4,460 lb NCC, but that does not establish a garage floor, ramp or tie-down rating. Obtain those limits and distribute the loaded cargo to keep axle, tire and hitch loads within their individual ratings.
The 34FLS lists 2,223 lb NCC. Sedona 28CBF lists a 45-gallon fresh tank, which adds about 375 lb of water. Keep those two models’ allowances separate rather than transferring a cargo figure between them.
