Lippert power tongue jacks: fuse and manual recovery
Identify the Lippert jack model before checking a fuse or using a manual override. Secure the trailer against movement and follow that model’s complete hitching or recovery sequence. A tongue jack is not a service lift, and its capacity does not rate the trailer’s gross weight.
Power Stance is a specific application
The Power Stance installation and owner manual, revision February 21, 2022 describes a 3,500-lb jack, a 30-amp fuse and operation from the trailer battery or an optional PowerSwap auxiliary cord. The optional cord is a named accessory, not an instruction to improvise power through any seven-way connection.
An assumed 8,000-lb trailer does not require its tongue jack to lift the entire 8,000 lb. Equally, dividing the 3,500-lb rating by an assumed 1,000-lb tongue load gives 3.5, but that ratio establishes neither acceptable ground support nor a safe hitching arrangement. Verify the actual load and all application restrictions.
Do not turn a failed fuse into a larger fuse
Inspect the accessible supply and visible wiring under the instructions. Replace a fuse only with its specified type and rating after addressing the cause; repeated failure calls for diagnosis. A blown fuse alone does not identify a failed motor, and a bigger fuse removes intended protection.
A jack that reaches a travel limit, slips, binds or stops lifting needs the model-specific checks. Moving cargo rearward merely to make the jack run can change towing stability and overload another part of the trailer. Resolve the load and equipment problem with the complete loaded trailer in mind.
Manual movement still needs a secured trailer
The Power Stance manual starts hitching and unhitching with wheel chocks and requires the footpad pins to be secured on firm, level ground. It specifies full leg retraction before travel. Follow its complete manual-override section for access, direction and restoration rather than copying a crank direction from another jack.
Before departure, verify the coupler, safety chains, electrical connection, breakaway attachment and fully stowed jack under the towing setup instructions. Clean and maintain the installed jack according to its own document; a lubricant recommendation for one mechanism is not a blanket treatment for its motor, switches or wiring.
