Foretravel Realm specifications and used-coach checks
Identify a Foretravel by its exact model and year before applying specifications or service instructions. A current Realm FS605 and an older Grand Villa or U-series coach need different documents. For a used purchase, obtain the chassis ratings and maintenance records alongside an inspection of the house systems.
Realm FS605: ratings for a specific configuration
The 2026 Realm FS605 specification identifies a Spartan K4 chassis and 605 hp Cummins X15. It gives 54,000 lb GVWR, 74,000 lb GCWR and axle ratings of 20,000 lb front, 20,000 lb drive and 14,000 lb tag. Those are limits, not the actual loaded axle weights.
The sheet lists a 120-gallon fresh tank. At 8.34 lb per gallon, full water adds about 1,001 lb. Weigh with the intended water and trip load aboard, then check each axle separately; the coach can be under GVWR while one axle exceeds its rating.
Match service information to the coach’s generation
Foretravel’s history traces the business to C.M. and Marie Fore’s 1967 motorhome. The manufacturer provides technical support documents and recall information. Match these to the coach identification and chassis records rather than assuming every Foretravel uses the current Realm platform.
Ask the seller to demonstrate leveling, slides, charging and the generator, and obtain invoices for chassis and house repairs. A brochure’s warranty summary needs the original purchase date, mileage and written exclusions checked before it becomes part of a used-coach budget.
Use the Realm’s ratings as limits on a measured trip load
The axle ratings describe different locations under the coach, so unused capacity on the tag does not excuse overloading the drive axle. Ask the scale operator for the available axle measurements with the coach in its intended travel condition. Record the fresh-water quantity and any heavy basement equipment at that weighing.
For a used Grand Villa or U-series coach, obtain its original ratings and identify subsequent chassis or house alterations. The current Realm specification does not establish the condition or service requirements of that older vehicle.
An inspection should reconcile the seller’s invoices with the installed generator, slide and charging equipment. A motorhome’s original luxury position does not remove the need to price overdue service or to confirm a replacement appliance’s installation requirements.
